Practical example of temporary disability

A 48-year old Latvian man disembarked in Vladivostok with heart problems. After staying in a hospital and repatriation, he was treated by a cardiologist in Paris. The Anker Alarm Service stayed in contact with the cardiologist and monitored the treatment. During his period of illness, the crewmember was entitled to continued payment of his wages. Anker Crew Insurance arranged the right to this benefit ensuing from the insurance policy. After a period of 62 days, the attending Physician issued a report with the advice that the man was recovered and could go back to work.
